ESGCT was delighted to support the 4th Congress of the Hellenic Society of Gene Therapy and Regenerative Medicine, which took place in Athens, from 17-18 May 2019.

ESGCT President, Hildegard Büning, was an invited speaker, and presented an award for best oral presentation to Dr. Monica Volpin, for her presentation entitled, 'The impact of vector integration on chromatin architecture'.

Best oral presentation awards were also awarded to Dr Nasia Antoniou, for her presentation on 'High content screening in a human model of familial Parkinson's disease reveals a kinase inhibitor that protects from neurodegeneration', and Dr. Anastasia Karagergou with her presentation on 'In vivo CRISPR/CAS9-mediated re-activation of γ-globin expression in a humanized thalassemia mouse model'.
 
The General Secretary of the Hellenic Society of Gene Therapy and Regenerative Medicine, Dr. Evangelia Yannaki, presents the award to Dr. K. Prodromidou, the second author of the Abstract by N. Antoniou et. al.

Dr. Paraskevi Koutsoudaki won the best poster for her poster entitled, 'Direct reprogramming of astrocytes to induced-neurons using miRNAS and small neurogenic molecules: in vivo potential therapeutic effect'.
