The ESGCT Spring School will take place at the Amarilia Hotel, Athens, Greece organised in collaboration with the Hellenic Society of Gene Therapy and Regenerative Medicine.

The new dates for the Spring School are 27 - 29 April 2022.

The ESGCT Spring School is a 3-day meeting of presentations and workshops focused on academic students as the primary attendees. Students will have free registration to the meeting that includes all meals, and will only have to pay for their travel and accommodation. We do not accept returning students, so that we can give more people the opportunity to attend a Spring School.

We invite leading experts in the field of gene and cell therapy to share their knowledge and give participating students the opportunity to spend time with them during the social events.

The Spring School programme will remain as close to the intended 2020 programme as possible, depending on speaker availability; have a look at the programme we had planned for 2020 we will update it for 2022 as soon as we have all the confirmations.

ACCOMMODATION: The meeting will be organised in a retreat format. We are holding 110 beds for students in 30 double and 10 triple rooms at the hotel. We strongly recommend you all stay at the hotel, as the day is very long and includes dinner activities which are a compulsory part of the Spring School programme. If you are not coming with someone from your lab, do let us know and we will try to match you with someone else who is coming by themselves, to make sure we make use of all the beds. See below for hotel booking information.

As an Athens coast hotel the Amarilia is located in Vouliagmeni, the most exclusive and green suburb of the Athenian Riviera. This stretch of coastline, with the Aegean Sea on one side, connects the port of Piraeus with Sounio. It is also referred as the Apollon coast, named after a small Temple of Apollo, which was discovered close to our hotel.

The celebrated area of Vouliagmeni, a popular beach resort and escape from the city, is also renowned for its many beautiful parks and pedestrian zones. These factors made it the natural choice for hosting the Triathlon event during the Athens 2004 Olympic games. The nearby marina hosts many of the boats that are seen cruising along the Athens coast, while visitors and residents are offered unlimited opportunities to enjoy nautical sports and sea-related activities.
