JOIN US AS A STUDENT/ECR BOARD MEMBER

The position of Student and Early Career Researcher (ECR) member of the ESGCT Board comes with special responsibilities for young investigators.
The ESGCT Board consists of 10 eminent researchers in the field of gene and cell therapy and co-opted student and/or ECR Board members. The creation of the positions of co-opted members for students (with whom the ECR Board member will collaborate) and for ECRs is intended to advise and support the ESGCT in building its student and post-doc community through memberships, (satellite) events and training opportunities. The position of ECR member is an ex-officio role whereby you would be invited to participate in Board meetings, have influence but would not be able to vote.

The term would be for 2 years effective from with the aim of a hand-over period in the last 6 months.
You will contribute:

review and suggest membership benefits for our ECR members
-
suggest and help implement ESGCT activities specifically benefiting young investigators
-
locate and engage with ECR groups in labs and institutions world-wide to encourage and manage contributions to our events, website and social media

work with the LUMINA team (ESGCT association managers) to develop ESGCT's social media impact including sourcing content and growing our following
-
manage the onsite social media activities at the Annual Congress and Spring School

Eligibility criteria
-
PhD student or post-doc in the first 5 years post-PhD without tenure or other permanent academic appointment
-
support of your line manager (this role will take approx 2 hours per week plus time to attend and work at annual Spring School and Congress)

commitment to the full 2-year term
-
excellent command of English language, additional languages and knowledge of and experience in using social media platforms a plus
