The ESGCT Spring School

The ESGCT Spring School is a 3-day meeting of presentations and workshops focused on academic students as the primary attendees. We do not accept returning students, so that we can give more people the opportunity to attend a Spring School.
We invite leading experts in the field of gene and cell therapy to share their knowledge and give participating students the opportunity to spend time with them during the social events.
Spring School registration is free, as part of ESGCT's remit for training and supporting students and early career researchers in the gene and cell therapy field. (Attendees are responsible for making their own travel and accommodation arrangements).​​

Accommodation & Registration
Accommodation

This year, the Spring School will be organised at St Anne's College, in Oxford. As the college has its own accommodation, this year, the registration to the Spring school will include accommodation for the duration of the event. Starting on Tuesday 13 April until Friday 16 April. If you would like to stay for a few extra days you will need to sort out your own accommodation and may be able to check with the College team whether you can stay there.

We invite leading experts in the field of gene and cell therapy to share their knowledge in presentations and workshops. Students will also have the opportunity to spend time with them during the social events throughout the programme.
Please read the following information carefully before you apply.
​
The event is open to all academic students who are members of ESGCT. However, please note that we will not accept registrations from any students who have attended a previous ESGCT Spring School or those who are based in industry.
​
Up to 6 places will be available per institute to enable as many students as possible from a wide variety of institutes to attend. There will be a cap on the total number of places, so please register promptly to avoid disappointment.
If you meet all of the above criteria, we will be pleased to receive your registration and look forward to seeing you in Oxford in April. Please register by 9 February, after which date we will open the remaining spaces for the waiting list.

Please note
We will hold a waiting list for students who have attended a previous Spring School and would like to attend again, or for anyone whose lab has already used their 6 places. Please email events@esgct.eu if you would like to join the waiting list.

Should you not be able to attend once you have booked your place, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer your place to someone else on the waiting list.

Once registered, if you do not attend the Spring School and do not inform us in advance, ESGCT has the right to invoice your supervisor for the cost of the unused place
​

How to get there​
By Train
Oxford Railway Station has direct services from London Paddington, London Marylebone, Birmingham, Manchester and other major UK cities. From the station, St Anne’s College is approximately a 20-minute walk or a short taxi ride.

By Coach
Regular coach services connect Oxford with London Heathrow, London Gatwick, central London (Victoria), and other UK destinations. Most services stop in Oxford city centre, from where the College is a 10 to 15-minute walk or a short taxi ride.

By Bus
St Anne's College is located on Woodstock Road, one of Oxford's main bus corridors. Frequent services, including routes 2, 2A, S1 and 14, stop within a short walk of the College. If travelling from Oxford Railway Station, route 14 provides a direct connection, or the College can be reached on foot in approximately 20 minutes
